Description
The Canadian Red Cross TES (Teaching Experience Supervisor) program is an adjunct endorsement for certified instructors to mentor and support new instructor candidates. It allows them to guide and evaluate new instructors during their teaching experience, rather than having to be an Instructor-Trainer themselves. The certification is earned by completing a skills assessment (when applicable), and an online course, building on the instructor’s existing certifications. Instructors once certified, are eligible to assist in the TES portion of a Candidates Instructor journey for any instructor discipline they currently hold (for example if you are a First Aid Instructor and a BLS Instructor, once completed you can do the TES for both programs).
Please note: You must provide us a copy of your completed skills check before materials can be issued (shipping is included with your purchase). You can complete your skills check with a TES instructor or an IT, First Aid 4U currently does not offer public skills check for you to complete this portion.
Step 1 Evaluate Skills and Check Pre-requisites
Step one consists of confirming prerequisites are met: you must be a certified Instructor or Youth Leader and complete a skills evaluation.
Step 2 Fundamentals of Instruction
Step 2 consists of an online component (2-4 hrs*) where you will learn the fundamentals of instruction for Teaching Experience Supervisors.
Step 3 Certification
Once you have completed step one and two, you are certified Teaching Experience Supervisor. This certificate remains current as long as your Instructor certification is current (no recertification required).
