Red Cross Standard First Aid Blended Training
Blended learning is a combination of online training with face-to-face instruction. The Blended Training Program allows for a portion of the course content to be conveyed to participants outside of the classroom through online training. This allows for the in-class component to concentrate on skill development and the application of theory. In this format the Standard First Aid course can be completed with approximately 6 hours of self paced online training followed by the 1 day of in-class training. The Online Modules must be completed prior to the in-class portion.
Classically, the Standard First Aid Training Course is a 2 day (in class) training course, this Blended Training allows a level of flexibility for participants and organizations to reduce the amount of time needed in class.
Blended Course Process
Online access will be delivered by email with a link to the course content from the Red Cross. The link will be supplied approximately one week prior to the scheduled training course start date.
The online portion of the training (~6 hours) must be completed prior to your in-class date.
If a participant has not completed the online training prior to the class start date the participant will not be eligible to attend the in-class session. There will be no refunds or transfers for any failure to complete the online portion prior to the course date. On completion of a booking all sales are considered final once the online access has been issued to the participant(s) on or about 1 week prior to the training course start date.
Any changes or rescheduling to an existing booking must occur more than 7 days prior to the course start date. Cancellations and/or re-scheduling of blended training courses are subject to an administrative fee of $25.00 + HST.
Participants must bring either a printed copy or digital copy (PDF, etc.) of the online completion certificate to the in-class session for the instructor to verify.
