Course Overview
The Canadian Red Cross’s “First Aid for Dogs and Cats” online course equips pet owners and aspiring pet sitters with essential skills to handle common emergencies involving cats and dogs. Participants will learn to identify normal vital signs, perform CPR including choking techniques, manage wounds, respond to seizures, and support overall pet health and well-being.

- Knowing What’s Normal: Recognize normal vital signs in pets to detect abnormalities.
- Breathing and Cardiac Emergencies: Learn to assess airways, breathing, circulation, and perform CPR and choking techniques.
- Wounds and Bleeding: Understand different types of wounds and appropriate care techniques.
- Seizures: Identify causes and symptoms of seizures, and learn how to assist pets during such events.
- Preventative Care, Health, and Well-being: Gain insights into maintaining pet health and preparing for emergencies.
Certification: Upon successful completion, participants receive a digital certificate from the Canadian Red Cross.
