Falls from heights are a leading cause of workplace injuries in Ontario. This Ministry-approved course equips workers with the knowledge and practical skills to work safely at heights and stay compliant with Ontario regulations. This training is practical for any worker in Ontario who uses fall protection equipment on a construction project. No previous experience is required.

COURSE CONTENT

What You’ll Learn

  1. Legislation & Regulations
    Overview of legal requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  2. Hazard Identification
    Recognizing and assessing risks associated with working at heights
  3. Fall Prevention & Protection
    Hands-on use of harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points
  4. Safe Work Practices
    Procedures for ladders, scaffolds, roofs, and elevated platforms
  5. Emergency Response
    Emergency response procedures including rescue techniques

Who Needs This Course

Any worker in Ontario who uses fall protection equipment on a construction project is required by law to complete this training. No previous experience is required.

Working at Heights Refresher Course

Prerequisite

A valid or recently expired Working at Heights certificate is required to enrol in the refresher course.

Your Working at Heights certification is valid for three years. When it’s time to renew, our half-day refresher course keeps you current with the latest safety practices and legislative requirements — without repeating the full course.
