Excellent, welcoming, personable, accommodating and knowledgeable instructor. The company has issues with admin. Advertised time for my course was 9-1. The first thing we were told in the classroom was 9-2. Also my certificate did not come as promised so I had to email and phone to receive it.
Excellent experience, the instructor, Smitty, was fantastic. He was not dry, I did not fall asleep during the training. He is very engaging and you could tell he had experience and brought this out wonderfully through his training and coaching.
I would highly recommend First Aid 4U for any of your First Aid training needs. I completed my Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C through First Aid 4U, a Canadian Red Cross training partner. Our instructor, Hawley, was very personable, and easy to follow. He often gave examples of real-life scenarios that he’s found himself in, or situations in which our training could play out in the real world. Our class was really interactive. I took First Aid & CPR/AED Level C many years ago, around 2010, and aside from the gap in time/evolving knowledge, I learned more about the same topics than I did back then! Awesome work, First Aid 4U!
I had a great time in class today with the wonderful David "smitty"smith.I learned a ton today. He has a way with how he explains things that really make you think..about scenarios in that may arise in real life..he is beyond knowledgable! His personal experiences really moved me with what he has dealt with..he is straight to the point and blunt in a really good way.we laughed a lot.we learned a lot and he truly is a great instructor.i was nervous about this but with all his information ontop of the slides he made me super confident and passed with 100 percent.thanks a bunch!
Rymond was a wonderful instructor. He was clear and consistent and taught all the important parts in a fun and engaging way. I would highly recommend him! He is also quite funny! Excellent experience with a fabulous teacher!
I recently attended a First Aid and CPR class, and I must say it was absolutely amazing. Here are some key highlights of the class:Expert Instructors: The class was led by highly knowledgeable and experienced instructors who knew their subject matter inside and out. They were not only experts in First Aid and CPR but also excellent teachers who made complex concepts easy to understand.Hands-On Training: What set this class apart was the hands-on training. We didn't just hear about how to perform CPR or administer first aid; we actually practiced it on mannequins and learned the proper techniques. This practical experience was invaluable.Comprehensive Content: The class covered a wide range of topics, from basic first aid for minor injuries to more advanced CPR techniques. I felt confident that I could respond effectively to various emergency situations after completing the course
The course was full loaded with theory and practicals.I Leanne’s a lot from the program. And A.J, our trainer did amazing job. She was very passionate and patient with every student so we can fully understand the program.FirstAid4U is highly recommendable.
It has been very beneficial to me. I have Learned plenty of things that will help me in my everyday life learning what to do when people need first aid assistance whether in workplaces. Or elsewhere learning how to properly provide first aid in many ways. The instructor has been very lucid and knowledgeable to have made every body lock in to get himself understood by trainees.
WOW!! So worth the money, time and effort!! I had David Smith aka “Smitty” as my instructor at Ottawa East and he made a content heavy 8 hour day so much more exciting, engaging and hands on!! He was very personable with tons of stories from his experiences! Would recommend this company to anyone I come across!
The course was very easy to understand and learn. The instructor, Catherine, was a great teacher and made lessons very engaging with video lessons, explanations, and live demonstrations. Additionally, we were provided with all the necessary materials we needed in order to practice our newly acquired skills and abilities. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested in learning or getting certified in cpr.
My daughter and I just finished our first aid course with Rayani.I just wanted to let you know that this was the best first aid course I’ve ever taken. I have taken at least six other first aid courses in the pass once from your school five or six years ago, and he is absolutely the best instructor I’ve ever had. He’s very engaging, he’s very supportive. He’s very helpful. He’s very friendly by the end of the course I felt like all the other students were my friends. He listen to our stories he supported us. He complimented us. It was not a horrible experience.I just wanted to say thank you from myself and my daughter.Julie & Jade
Fantastic training from Rayan Afsar! It was my second time having a class with this trainer and it was great both times. Rayan is very informative while also connecting with anecdotes and jokes to keep the class engaged. I left the class with no unanswered questions, feeling very confident in my abilities to provide care in an emergency situation.
David "Smitty" Smith is by far one of the most genuine, fun and knowledgeable people I've ever met. He made learning CPR/First Aid an empowering and an impactful course. His ability to use humour and shared experiences made the content more relatable and memorable. Thank you, Smitty! 🙂
Mageb, who taught us in Vaughan, in Apr. 2023, did a great job teaching us. Being a trained physician in his home country came through by exhibiting his professional knowledge. However, he also did it in a light, almost entertaining manner which made the educational experience less cumbersome.
Just completed a 2 day course with Smitty........ awesome experience. David is an amazing instructor and I'm so thankful for the knowledge and experiences that he shared with all of us. I hope to never use the knowledge I've gained over the last couple days but if the day does come I know what needs to be done and have to confidence to do it.David "Smitty" Smith,Thank you again!
Smitty is one of the best instructors I have ever interacted with. Not only was he informative, he knew how to keep us engaged and interested in all the content. I know that anytime I am needing to get any certifications, I'm going to ask if Smitty is the one teaching!
Thank You to David Smith for Todays CPR Class. He was very helpful, organised, entertaining, and very friendly. The class was very engaging because of his positive attitude and that helped me stay focused during the whole training. Please tell him I say Thank you, and to keep spreading positive energy while teaching.Huda
Ashraf was a great instructor who was serious yet personable in his delivery of the practical component of my blended First-Aid/CPR/AED course. I ended up needing to put my training to use just days after having completed the course and was able to act quickly and effectively to assist an injured colleague. While the entities aren't directly related, my only complaint about the program has been the finicky/temperamental Red Cross website. Accessing certifications, course information and profile details has been - at best - annoying.
Passed my standard first aid and cpr at the Robertson rd location in Ottawa!!Josh was an amazing teacher. He took the time to work through problems or questions the class had. He allowed us to build confidence in our abilities to save a life. He is going to make a great doctor. Thank you very much!
My instructor was phenomenal. He made me understand the philosophy of care, the practicality and that got me appreciating safety from a different perspective. I loved the story telling. It really resonates with you. Thank you for impacting my knowledge.
I have been taking first aid courses at different places in Ottawa over the past 12 years and by far First Aid 4 U is the best. The teaching technique, and the way the information is given makes the course really enjoyable. The stories and real life experience shared during the course helped me retain most of the information taught. A big thank you to Hauley who is by far the best instructor I've ever had the pleasure to meet and learn from. I will be back for sure.
David Smith is the instructor that made taking this course as enjoyable as it was. Combining techniques with real world experiences and comprehensive demonstrations really makes you understand the gravity of how helpful these practices are on the field.
Such an amazing experience. Had so much fun and learned a lot of valuable information that could help me help someone in the future. I am definitely more confident now to walk up to someone and help them. Our instructor Mr. Hawley was amazing and very helpful and we learned a lot from his past stories and experiences.
The Brampton instructor is the best. He makes learning fun and easy. If you listen to the instructor (which is his #1 rule) you will pass with flying colours. Thank you Aurangzeb you were GREAT!My only issues are they need to invest in a Bluetooth speaker as the laptop volume isn't loud enough and a bigger tv would be nice.
In class portion:- Good instructor.- It would be better if the TV was the appropriate size to see the presentation, or if used a projector allowing a wide screen.Online portion:- Well designed.- It would be better if it provide a summary of main points for each chapter allowing the student a quick refresh about them.
The course and instructor were good. After the course was completed I’ve started to receive emails stating that they hadn’t received my payment. I contacted them, clarified that they had my payment, and received by email, a copy of the invoice indicating that it was paid in full. Since, I receive an email monthly stating I still haven’t paid, each to which I reply with the receipt, marked “paid”, attached. It is impossible to speak with a person when you call in. It goes to voicemail every time. Disorganized, and to be honest, the emails are rude, stating how it’s problematic that I haven’t paid them, and that it’s an urgent matter. If I had rated immediately after taking the course, it would have been 4-5 stars, but based on the nonse
