Course Content

What You Will Learn

Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR provides comprehensive first aid and life-saving training to help participants respond confidently to emergencies at work, home, or in the community. This course covers both life-threatening emergencies and common injuries, following the latest Canadian Red Cross first aid and CPR guidelines.

Emergency scene management and the Check, Call, Care approach
CPR for adults, children, and infants
Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Choking and airway emergencies
Wound care and bleeding control
Head, neck, spinal, bone, muscle, and joint injuries
Sudden medical emergencies including heart attack, stroke, and diabetic emergencies
Environmental and exposure emergencies such as heat, cold, drowning, and poisoning

Training includes hands-on practice, scenario-based learning, and skill evaluation to prepare participants for real-world emergencies.
