WSIB Compliance
WSIB Compliance
All employers who are subject to the Occupational Health and Safety Act must comply with Regulation 1101.
The Regulation states what each employer is obligated to provide in the workplace and Section 82 of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act authorizes the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (the Board) to surcharge employers who do not comply with these first aid requirements.
Regulation 1101 – First Aid Training for Workers
Regulation 1101 requires all employers to ensure that first aid boxes and stations are in the charge of workers who hold valid first aid certificates issued by a training agency recognized by the Board.
In Ontario, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals is of paramount importance, and one crucial aspect of this commitment is adhering to the Ontario first aid kit requirements. Whether you’re at home, in the workplace, or out in public spaces, having a well-equipped first aid kit can make all the difference in emergencies. Ontario has established specific guidelines and regulations for first aid kits to ensure they are capable of providing prompt and effective care when needed. Understanding these requirements is essential for individuals and organizations alike to prioritize safety and be prepared for unforeseen situations.
Here is a list of what this regulation requires the employer to do:
- Provide and maintain first aid equipment, facilities, and trained first aiders in the workplace. The specific Ontario First Aid Kit Requirements depend on the number of workers employed in any one shift and the type of work being done. Consult the regulations for the minimum requirements that apply to your workplace.
- Post the WSIB’s large, black and yellow poster called, “In All Cases of Injury/Disease” in a place or places where all workers can see it. (Known as Form 82, this poster outlines the legal responsibilities and obligations of both the employer and worker when an injury or illness happens on the job.)
- Make sure first aid is given immediately.
- Make sure there is a record of the first aid treatment or any advice given to an employee.
- Complete and give Form 156 to the employee (“Treatment Memorandum”) if more than first aid treatment or advice is needed.
- Provide immediate transportation to a hospital, doctor, or the employee’s home.
- Submit a Form 7 to the WSIB within three days of learning of an accident. This form is also known as “Employer’s Report of Accidental Injury/Industrial Disease.”

Food for thought- I think it would be a great help to all if you include the small first aid kit in the course for a few bucks more and maybe add aspirin in it as it saves lives.
Thanks again and great job Hawley!
My instructor was very knowledgeable. He made learning not only involved, as needed to demonstrate and learn, but also made it fun and easy to stay attentive. Time well spent in a fun learning environment.
Thanks Red Cross!
Very good and professional trainer.
Hawley is a very knowledgeable and friendly instructor with valuable life experience.
She was extremely knowledgeable, respectful and professional. Her training skills are polished with a witty sense of humour. I feel confident to take initiative if I ever experience someone in need of First Aid care. Kim was thorough and explained herself well. Thanks to Kim, I’ll retain this valuable First Aid information for years to come.

This man is the perfect instructor for this course. He is a life saver (literally), well spoken & very informed on First Aid.
Hope to see you again when comes recertification time!
I like how he delivered the course. His approach to First Aid helped me learn a lot, and I changed how I looked at it. His class dynamics are interesting and keep participants engaged. I would surely recommend this course to others.

Rafaat and Rymon were excellent trainers and made the course training enjoyable.
Thank you.
The company has issues with admin. Advertised time for my course was 9-1. The first thing we were told in the classroom was 9-2. Also my certificate did not come as promised so I had to email and phone to receive it.
I definitely RECOMMEND!
I learned a ton today. He has a way with how he explains things that really make you think..about scenarios in that may arise in real life..he is beyond knowledgable! His personal experiences really moved me with what he has dealt with..he is straight to the point and blunt in a really good way.we laughed a lot.we learned a lot and he truly is a great instructor.i was nervous about this but with all his information ontop of the slides he made me super confident and passed with 100 percent.thanks a bunch!
Very Good instructor @ Raymon. Perfect knowledge. I really enjoyed the course.
This was most enjoyable course and the instructor was by far the most knowledgeable.
Expert Instructors: The class was led by highly knowledgeable and experienced instructors who knew their subject matter inside and out. They were not only experts in First Aid and CPR but also excellent teachers who made complex concepts easy to understand.
Hands-On Training: What set this class apart was the hands-on training. We didn't just hear about how to perform CPR or administer first aid; we actually practiced it on mannequins and learned the proper techniques. This practical experience was invaluable.
Comprehensive Content: The class covered a wide range of topics, from basic first aid for minor injuries to more advanced CPR techniques. I felt confident that I could respond effectively to various emergency situations after completing the course
I Leanne’s a lot from the program.
And A.J, our trainer did amazing job. She was very passionate and patient with every student so we can fully understand the program.
FirstAid4U is highly recommendable.
I just wanted to let you know that this was the best first aid course I’ve ever taken. I have taken at least six other first aid courses in the pass once from your school five or six years ago, and he is absolutely the best instructor I’ve ever had. He’s very engaging, he’s very supportive. He’s very helpful. He’s very friendly by the end of the course I felt like all the other students were my friends. He listen to our stories he supported us. He complimented us. It was not a horrible experience.
I just wanted to say thank you from myself and my daughter.

David "Smitty" Smith,
Thank you again!

While the entities aren't directly related, my only complaint about the program has been the finicky/temperamental Red Cross website. Accessing certifications, course information and profile details has been - at best - annoying.
Josh was an amazing teacher. He took the time to work through problems or questions the class had. He allowed us to build confidence in our abilities to save a life. He is going to make a great doctor. Thank you very much!
My only issues are they need to invest in a Bluetooth speaker as the laptop volume isn't loud enough and a bigger tv would be nice.
- Good instructor.
- It would be better if the TV was the appropriate size to see the presentation, or if used a projector allowing a wide screen.
Online portion:
- Well designed.
- It would be better if it provide a summary of main points for each chapter allowing the student a quick refresh about them.
