Course Description
The Canadian Red Cross First Aid & CPR Instructor Development Program trains and certifies Instructor Candidates to organize and deliver Red Cross First Aid & CPR courses, including Standard First Aid, Emergency First Aid, and CPR (A & C). This program emphasizes an individualized approach to instruction; focusing on injury prevention, learning styles, and varied teaching techniques. This allows instructors to adapt to the needs, abilities, and ages of different learners. Completion involves a structured development pathway (skills evaluation, fundamentals of instruction, discipline-specific training, and teaching experience) with guidance through an Instructor Development Centre (IDC).
Transfer Options: You may qualify for a First Aid Instructor Transfer course if you are currently certified as a First Aid instructor with another WSIB recognized training organization or, if you are a certified elementary or secondary school teacher. Our team will review your documentation after registration request has been made and eligibility is subject to approval.
