Basic Life Support (BLS) – Formerly CPR Level HCP (Health Care Practitioner)
As of January 2019, Canadian Red Cross training partners, including First Aid 4U are now offering BLS (Basic Life Support) courses. BLS has replaced the HCP (Healthcare Provider) course. BLS is a more accurate and up to date version of the HCP course.
This is a stand-alone course which will run for 4 hours and is currently not offered with our general public Standard First Aid classes. If you require Standard First Aid and BLS, please feel free to request a private group session HERE (minimum group size is 8).
Audience
Our program is meticulously crafted to bolster participant confidence in applying CPR skills efficiently within a team dynamic, catering specifically to professionals entrusted with responding to emergencies. This course encompasses critical elements, including rapid assessment, the execution of Basic Life Support (BLS) techniques, and swift defibrillation, emphasizing the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
For those seeking comprehensive expertise, we offer optional certifications in Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy, enabling participants to broaden their skill set and knowledge base.
This training is ideal for in-facility care providers, which includes a wide spectrum of healthcare professionals such as nursing staff, care aides, as well as medical and dental practitioners. By participating in this course, healthcare providers are better equipped to deliver timely and effective life-saving interventions, enhancing the overall safety and well-being of the individuals they serve.
Our aim is to ensure that healthcare professionals are not only well-prepared but also confident in their ability to handle emergency situations as a cohesive team, ultimately saving lives and making a positive impact within their respective healthcare environments.
Certification
Basic Life Support certificates are valid for 1 year, and can be re-certified prior the expiration date.
