First Aid 4U Policies

This page outlines First Aid 4U Inc. policies relating to training, privacy, online purchases, and communications.

Training Policies

Effective March 31, 2026

General Policy Statements: Policies apply to any training with First Aid 4U.

First Aid 4U will not be required to provide refunds for any government-sanctioned course disruptions, including forced business closures or reduced gathering limits. Booking fees will be held as credit for future training once restrictions have been lifted and training is safe to resume.

First Aid 4U reserves the right to reschedule, amend, or cancel a training session or booking as needed, in accordance with internal policy or direction from applicable stakeholders.

Both participants and instructors have the right to attend training sessions in a safe environment. Should any concerns arise within a training session, the cancellation policy of First Aid 4U will remain in effect, with all parties concerned acting reasonably.

Late/No-Show Policy

IF YOU ARE LATE FOR A COURSE:
First Aid 4U Inc. is required to follow WSIB and Canadian Red Cross Guidelines in order to issue certifications. In accordance with the applicable standards, a participant must attend 100% of the in-class session to gain certification. If a participant attempts to enter a course after the session start time, it is considered a late arrival for a course. The participant will not be admitted into the session. The participant registration will be considered forfeit and no refund will be given. A new booking, with payment of the associated costs, will have to be arranged in order to attend a new course with First Aid 4U.

IF YOU ARE A NO-SHOW/ABSENT TO A COURSE:
If a participant does not attend the selected and scheduled course (a no-show or absent), the participant will forfeit the registration and no refund will be given. A new booking, along with the associated costs, will have to be arranged in order to attend a new course with First Aid 4U.

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy

All bookings are final and non-refundable four (4) business days prior to the course start date. For greater clarity, no cancellations or rescheduling can be made within four (4) business days of the course start date. If a request is received to change an existing booking within four (4) business days of the course start date, First Aid 4U will not be able to accommodate. The booking is considered final and no further changes, refunds, or accommodations can be made.

If you wish to reschedule a booking, or cancel a booking, more than four (4) business days before the course start date, a $35.00+ HST non-refundable administrative fee, per participant, is applied. Should a refund be provided for the cancellation of a booking, any administrative fees or pre-course cost(s) will not be refunded or applied as a credit to future bookings. Refunds are issued on the remaining balance of First Aid training course fees ONLY - any additional purchases (alternate courses, online training courses, additional content, materials, etc.) or fees will not be refunded. Refunds are generally processed within 7-10 business days. Instructors are not authorized to grant reschedules, cancellations, refunds, or booking modifications under any circumstances.

Online Course Requirements for Blended Courses

Access to the online training will be provided one business day after registration is confirmed. Please note you should expect to receive an email from the Canadian Red Cross with your activation link by 12 pm on the following business day. Online training must be completed prior to the in-class session. Participants will not be accepted into the in-class session if the online course is incomplete for failure to meet Red Cross Guidelines for Blended Training. Should that be the case, participant registration will be considered forfeit and no refunds will be given.

The digital certificate obtained for completion of the required online training is valid for six (6) weeks from the date of completion of the online module. If a participant requests to reschedule the in-class session beyond this six (6) week period (and 4 business days prior to the course date) the online access can be re-issued to the participant. The online module must be completed again. Additionally, a $15.00+HST non-refundable fee, per instance, will be applied, payable, and non-refundable to re-issue online access.

If a participant arrives at the course with an expired online training certificate, they will be turned away, forfeiting their registration. If a participant has an expired online training certificate for a future course, it is recommended to contact First Aid 4U four (4) business days prior to any course date to arrange a new online course. This incurs a $15.00+HST non-refundable administrative fee (per participant) for a new online course issuance.

Participants need to be aware that completion of the online training is recommended to be done once a participant is within the 6 week timeline for the in-class session. This is to avoid the online certificate expiring prior to attending the in-class session. First Aid 4U is not responsible for any misinterpretations or misunderstanding of the details contained within any course requirement.

Upgrading Blended Courses

If a participant is registered for a Blended training course and it is decided that a change in the level of training is required (e.g. from Blended CPR-C/AED training course to the more advanced Blended Standard First Aid & CPR-C/AED), a new online course will need to be issued. This will incur a $15.00+HST non-refundable administrative fee (per participant), PLUS any additional charges that may apply for any change in training level. Completed online training for different training levels is NOT transferable. For clarity, if a participant has already been issued online access, or completed the online training, that portion is NOT eligible to be transferred, in any way, for another course type. Participants will not be accepted into a different course type if the online training certificate does not match the course which they are enrolled for. Using previously expired online certificates to gain access to the in-person course is strictly prohibited and will result in forfeiture of the course fee.

If a participant switches from a Blended course to a full in-person course, they will be required to pay any outstanding balance if the new course fee is higher. Please note that an additional $35.00+HST non-refundable administrative fee (per participant) will be applied to account for the rescheduling. In-person course bookings are non-refundable four (4) business days prior to the course start date. If a participant downgrades to a lower-priced course after this time, the difference in fees will not be refunded.

Recertification Course Requirements

In order to be eligible for a Standard First Aid & CPR Recertification, the following conditions must be:

  • The Certificate must be issued by the Canadian Red Cross
  • The Certificate must say “Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C/AED” - Cannot say “Recertified” nor “Level A or B”.
  • A Certificate cannot be expired

IMPORTANT: If you register for a Recertification course and are not eligible, you will be turned away from the class. You will be required to rebook a new course entirely. Therefore, we recommend sending our team a copy of your certificate prior to registration to verify your eligibility. Please note that all participants are still required to bring their certificate to the in-class session, as the instructor must verify the certificate's authority for recertification at the beginning of a training session, otherwise the instructor cannot accept a participant into the session.

Special Circumstances

In the event that an in-class session is cancelled by First Aid 4U, participants are entitled to the following: Free rescheduling into another session of the same level OR Full refund available for the original course cost (not including administration fees).

Assessment and Course Completion

Participants who do not receive a passing grade may re-attempt the assessment at no additional charge until a passing result is obtained, at the complete discretion of First Aid 4U. The instructor may determine whether the participant is eligible for a re-test only or if they are required to repeat the full course to further develop the required knowledge and skills. All such determinations are made at the instructor’s discretion.

Food Allergies, Medical Conditions, In-Class Accommodations and On-Site Injuries

Participants are responsible for disclosing any medical conditions, injuries, or food allergies prior to the course start date. While reasonable efforts may be made to accommodate disclosed conditions, First Aid 4U cannot guarantee a risk-free environment. Participants requiring accommodations in-class that will restrict full participation of the course are required to notify First Aid 4U prior to the course start date. Participants attend and participate in all course activities at their own risk. First Aid 4U is not liable for injuries, allergic reactions, or medical incidents that may occur during the course, except where caused by proven negligence that First Aid 4U is responsible for. Any injury sustained during the course must be reported to the instructor immediately.

Swapping Participants

Participant swaps within four (4) business days of any course is at the complete discretion of First Aid 4U Inc. Any changes in participants must be confirmed with our Customer Service team more than four (4) business days before the course start date. With Blended bookings, a new online course access will be required to be issued to the new participant, which incurs an additional $15.00 +HST non-refundable administrative fee (per person). It is the sole responsibility of the attending participant to complete the online training prior to the Blended in-class course.

Customer vs Participant Duties

Should there be a discrepancy or difference between the Customer (individual that created and paid for the booking) and the Participant (individual attending the training session) for any existing booking or registration, First Aid 4U will only finalize any changes to the registration with confirmation of the Customer, unless otherwise agreed between the Customer and First Aid 4U.

Customers Registering Participants

If a Customer registers on behalf of a Participant, it is the Customer’s responsibility to relay all booking information (policies, terms & conditions, pre-requisites, course location, date, and timing) to the Participant. It is recommended the Participant email is confirmed within the booking to address issues that may arise related to the Participant receiving course details. A Customer proceeding with a registration on behalf of a Participant is confirming acceptance of the First Aid 4U policies/terms & conditions as it applies to both the registration(s) and booking(s) with First Aid 4U. It is not First Aid 4U’s responsibility to notify the Participant of original booking information or changes, it is the sole responsibility of the Customer.

Direct Invoicing & Payment Terms

Clients requesting direct invoicing must agree to, and complete, the required Billing Agreement prior to commencement of any registrations that will be addressed by direct invoicing. Invoices will be issued by email following the creation and confirmation of any booking. Invoices are due within 30 days of being issued. Invoices that are not paid within this period will incur a 1.5% interest charge per month. First Aid 4U reserves the right to suspend future bookings, withhold certification, or deny additional services should First Aid 4U deem it necessary. Any outstanding balances must be paid in full. Accounts remaining unpaid beyond 30 days may be referred to a collections agency and be subject to reasonable additional charges. The Client is responsible for any additional administrative or collection costs incurred by First Aid 4U as a result of non-payment.

National Contract Accounts

For companies with established contracts with the Canadian Red Cross, commonly referred to National Accounts, First Aid 4U reserves the right to register, or deny, participants directly under the corporate account, under these arrangements: Payment is billed according to the terms of the Canadian Red Cross corporate contract. Participants may register without immediate payment unless otherwise required. Contracted requirements, course pricing, and payment terms may vary for each National Account and are determined by the Canadian Red Cross, and not the responsibility of First Aid 4U. For cancellations, rescheduling, or any alterations to existing bookings will be executed in accordance with the terms and conditions as directed by the National Account agreement with the Red Cross. Any variations to course pricing, discounts, or billing arrangements must be pre-approved in writing by the Canadian Red Cross and First Aid 4U. Any discrepancies between the policies of a National Account and First Aid 4U, First Aid 4U reserves the right to administer a final decision in the best interest of First Aid 4U.
