Course Overview
A Red Cross instructor recertification course is designed to update current instructors’ skills and knowledge to re-certify their teaching credentials. These courses are offered in-person and involve a review of any new program updates, reinforcement of teaching skills, and the opportunity to discuss training methods with other instructors in your area! A recertification must be completed for each discipline a candidate is certified in (First Aid & CPR, Professional Responder, etc.).
Please Note: if you hold a Teaching Experience Supervisor or Youth Leader certificate it will be automatically renewed at this time.
Recertification Qualifications
- A current valid CRC Instructor certification (not expired) in the discipline you are registering for. (If you currently have a valid extension to your certificate you will need to provide that during the registration review).
- Have taught a minimum of three Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program courses during the three-year certification period.
- One course must have been taught in each discipline the Instructor is seeking recertification (course taught must be at the highest level of certification within each discipline; recertification and blended courses also qualify).
Please ensure you review the Recertification Discipline column when selecting your course as we offer First Aid & CPR Discipline (FA-I & CPR-I) courses as well as Professional Responder Discipline (EMR-I, FR-I, and BLS-I) courses.
