Now that you have completed your First Aid and/or CPR course, don’t forget to utilize it. Each course gives a unique certificate to every individual who has completed and passed their First Aid and/or CPR Training.

How To Access & Download Your Certificate

It typically takes 3-5 business days after your course to process your final certificate with the Canadian Red Cross. After the entire course has been completed, you will be sent a booking summary, which will include the course you have taken, the date, and it will indicate if you have passed. 

You will be receiving an email from the Canadian Red Cross once your certificate has been processed. To retrieve your final certificate from the Red Cross, kindly log in to your My Red Cross Account and select “My Profile” followed by “My Certifications”. This will display all the certificates earned under your account.

How Do I Use My Certificate Now That I Have It?

Having a certification in life-saving skills like First Aid and/or CPR is an achievement to be proud of. You can showcase your certification to friends, family, and potential employers by adding it to your resume or sharing it on various social media platforms.

LinkedIn allows you to showcase your skills and certifications. You can easily add certifications to your profile, making them visible to potential employers, colleagues, and industry connections. By displaying your achievements, you enhance your credibility and stand out as someone who values continuous learning.

How To Validate A Certificate

First Aid 4U & the Canadian Red Cross work together to assist anyone inquiring about the validity of a certificate. With two quick and easy steps you can check if:

  • The certificate was indeed issued by the Canadian Red Cross
  • The certificate in question was issued to the correct person
  • The certificate is still currently valid and not expired

You will need the participants Last Name (participants with only one name will act as their last name), and certificate ID Number. You can see an example below:

Certificates Guide – Overview

Below is a comprehensive guide to what each certification means and how long they would be valid for!

Standard First Aid & CPR Level C/AED

The course includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines from the Canadian Red Cross and meets federal and a variety of provincial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Participants are also certified to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

CPR level C Covers all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adults, children, and infants.

This certificate is valid for 3 years.

Certification can be renewed once. All recertified certificates cannot be renewed.

Emergency First Aid & CPR level C/AED

Our Emergency First Aid (EFA) courses are available in both traditional and blended formats. These courses are designed to equip your employees with the most essential rapid response skills for emergency situations, ensuring they’re prepared to act swiftly and effectively when every second counts.

Participants are also certified to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

This certificate is valid for 3 years.

Basic Life Support/HCP

Participants would be trained in: Glove removal, providing primary assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Airway Obstruction, Assisted Ventilation, Basic Life Support special considerations and High performance CPR.

This certificate is valid for 1 year.

Q: Why Can’t I Find My Certificate?
If your course was completed recently, it may still be in processing (2–3 business days).

If it's been longer than a week, there may be a name or system issue. Please contact us at service@firstaid4u.ca for support.
Q: My certificate is expired, now what?
If your certificate has passed its validity date, you will need to retake the course to be recertified.
Q: How quickly will I receive my certificate after I complete the training?
You’ll typically receive your certificate within 3–5 business days. After your course, a booking summary will be sent confirming your course completion and certification status.
