Blended learning is a combination of online training with face-to-face instruction. The Blended Training Program allows for participants to take a portion of the course content outside of the classroom through online training. This allows for the in-class component to concentrate on hands-on skill development and the application of theory.
In this format the Standard First Aid course can be completed with approximately 6 hours of self-paced online training followed by 1 day of in-class training. The Online Modules must be completed prior to the in-class portion.
Classically, the Standard First Aid Training Course is a 2-day (in class) training course. This Blended First Aid Training allows a level of flexibility for participants and organizations to reduce the amount of time needed in class.
Online access will be delivered by email with a link to the course content from the Red Cross. The link will be supplied 1-2 business days after your registration.
The online portion of the training (~6 hours) must be completed prior to your in-class date. Please note you cannot complete the online portion more than 30 days before your in-class date.
If a participant has not completed the online training prior to the class start date, the participant will not be eligible to attend the in-class session. We cannot issue refunds or transfers for any failure to complete the online portion prior to the course date. All sales are considered final once the online access has been issued to the participant(s).
Before the scheduled in-person class portion, any changes or rescheduling to an existing booking must occur more than 7 days prior to the course start date. Cancellations and/or re-scheduling of blended training courses are subject to an administrative fee of $25.00 + HST.
Participants must bring either a printed copy or digital copy (PDF, etc.) of the online completion certificate to the in-class session for the instructor to verify.
